The University of Nebraska Viticulture Program will hold a mid-summer tailgate meeting at Mac’s Creek Winery and Brewery near Lexington, Nebraska. The educational focus will be on mid-summer vineyard tasks, planning for harvest (including harvest estimation), disease prevention and a discussion of new cultivars that have been recently introduced.
Registration and introductions will begin at 4:00 p.m., with the program to follow. After visiting the vineyards, there will be an opportunity to tour the winery and brewing operations and to purchase food and beverages..
Read receives ASEV-ES Distinguished Service Award
Paul E. Read, University of Nebraska–Lincoln Department of Agronomy and Horticulture professor of horticulture and viticulture, will be honored with the 2024 American Society of Enology and Viticulture – Eastern Section Distinguished Service Award during the 48th Annual ASEV–ES Conference July 9–11 in Cleveland, Ohio.
