Fall Workshop to focus on herbicide drift

The Fall Workshop will be held on Nov. 5, 2016 at the Southern Heights Presbyterian Church, corner of Old Cheney Road and S. 40th Streets, Lincoln, Nebraska. Problems associated with herbicide drift and volatilization and the impact on Nebraska and Midwest vineyards will be the primary focus of this workshop.

Sponsored jointly by the University of Nebraska Viticulture Program and the Nebraska Winery and Grape Growers Association, topics will include discussions of steps to take if a drift event has impacted your vines, possible remedial measures and other weed management issues.

More details, including speakers, additional topics and times will be available in the near future on this UNVP website and in future issues of the Nebraska VineLines. This is an especially timely event—be sure to put it on your calendar!

20th Annual Nebraska Winery and Grape Growers Forum and Trade Show

The 20th Annual Nebraska Winery and Grape Growers Forum and Trade Show will be March 2-4, 2017 at the Omaha Marriott.
Michigan State University’s Paolo Sabbatini will be the featured viticulture speaker and former MSU professor Stan Howell, now the lead viticulture specialist for the VESTA program, will be the speaker at the Grand Awards Banquet.  This is a real “One-Two Punch”, with Paolo’s breadth and depth of viticulture knowledge and Stan’s incredibly productive career accomplishments making for a great educational program; of course Stan will bring a thoughtful historical perspective, along with his great sense of humor to the table, so it promises to be an outstanding conference.
